First things first, how do you pronounce the title of this book?π That said, I'm actually angry.π I really tried to finish reading this book but the further I read, the angrier I got! The red flag was there right from the beginning tbh but Othuka, as a writer gifted with the craft of weaving words perfectly convinced me to read further.
You know what happens when the Yoruba movie industry tries to adapt a particular Harlequin or Mills and Booms story line, the one with a title such as "The demanding Sheikh" or "The Cowboys temptation?π
You have Odufa falling in love with her sister's supposed man, her getting slapped by him and then she goes all begging, crying to the same man that slapped him, confessing her love and then they both held each other and then boom another Cupid lovers crying edition started. Arghhh!π
If I perchance pick this book up again, I will be doing that only to study and appreciate Othuka's use of words. Stellar! Excellent!
